The University of Toronto Engineering exam schedule has been posted at the undergrad registrar’s website. The exam period runs from December 7th through to December 21st of 2007. My exam times are as follows:

December 13 @ 2:00pm
AER501 - Advanced Mechanics of Structures
December 17 @ 9:30am
AER525 - Robotics
December 21 @ 2:00pm
AER506 - Spacecraft Dynamics and Control

While some people would say its nice to have so few exams and have them so spread out, I’m rather disappointed that I will have to spend so much time sitting around in Toronto because I have an exam on the last day of the exam period. Move them forward by a week (i.e. Dec 7, 10, 14) and I would be able to spend an entire extra week in Peterborough with my family.

I mean come on, this is Engineering. Either you know the stuff well enough that you really only need a solid two or three days to study, or you’re in a lot of trouble. One day to read over your notes from the year. Maybe you won’t understand everything in detail, but you should have all the basic concepts down pat. One day to go over past midterms and exams, i.e. doing practice questions. A third day to do some memorization (if its a closed-book exam) and to go over the finer points and trivialities. Anything beyond that is just repetitive.

Oh well =/
