Gone From Her Forever

On a note related only in that I also saw this on matthewgood.org, I found the following to be a really powerful image that made me die a little on the inside.

I came across this picture on Sonny’s blog and it really demonstrates the side of the war in Iraq that is little seen on this side of the ocean, the human cost, and the affect that it ultimately has on others. Is the women laying in front of that grave thinking patriotic thoughts? Or is her heart just broken? She will never see him again. In the end, will it have been worth it? Or, as was the case with almost 60,000 dead Americans in the last great misadventure, will it be nothing more that a future stolen from not only her, but him as well?
