I’m not sure whether it is because of my recent insomnia, my continually useless and annoying classes, or my incessant playing of Guitar Hero, but I’ve been on a bit of a metal kick recently. In the past week, I have acquired discographies for and been listening to several thrash/speed/hXc/epic/[…] metal bands, such as DragonForce, Megadeth, The Locust, and All That Remains.

To be honest, this is the first occasion I can recall spending any significant amount of time listening to metal by choice. As you can see by my Last.fm profile, I’m not a typical frequenter of that genre. Recently I seem to be seeing much more to the music, in particular the exquisite guitar work. I can’t help but be awed the ability for some of these guitarists to shred like gods.

In other time-wasting-related news, I’m finally all caught up on CSI, and yes, I even got around to watching the episode where Nick gets buried. Because I can’t get by without a television show in my life, and most of my regulars are on hold, so I’ve decided to go back in time a bit.

I’m currently working my way through Space: Above and Beyond and am about to start the 5th of 24 episodes. Since I have now started my weekend, I shan’t expect the entire series to take too long finish =P

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I feel a hankering for a peanut butter sammich!
